Spicewood’s Newest NextGen Digital Classrooms

kindernextgenStudents in Ms. Bliven’s and Ms. Keating’s kindergarten classrooms met their iPad buddies this week and explored sketching with Paper by 53, and used Chatterpix to describe the physical properties of rocks they were examining earlier that day. Students in these newest NextGen Digital classrooms will use iPad technology as tools for production rather than consumption. This technology gives our students the opportunity to collaborate and communicate in a greater variety of ways. They will also develop their problem solving and technical skills as they use the iPads to demonstrate their thinking.

peoplesnextgenDown the hall, we have two additional classrooms that are NextGen Digital classrooms this year. Students in Ms. Peoples’ and Mrs. Sanchez’s first grade classrooms continued working with the concept of big moments and small moments as it relates to writing in a Nearpod lesson. These first grader writers practiced their thinking, communication, and social skills as they worked alongside their iPad buddy to inquire more deeply about what it means to be a writer. Be sure to stay connected to these amazing teachers and classrooms by following them on Twitter!
