What’s Happening on Campus

We are excited to announce that we’ll be hosting Parent Math Education Nights!

Two of our 3rd grade teachers, Mr. Little and Mr. Joyce, have volunteered to put together two sessions of Parent Math Education Night. This is a great opportunity for parents to learn about how math is taught currently. Mr. Little and Mr. Joyce will be teaching the strategies so parents can, in turn, help their child(ren) at home. It will be an interactive presentation where parents will be asked to engage in solving math problems.

Parent Math Education Night Part I- Addition/Subtraction Strategies on Thursday, February 16 from 6-7:30PM in the library
Parent Math Education Night Part II- Multiplication/Division Strategies on Thursday, March 2 from 6-7PM in the library

Please note that this event is only open to parents without students and/or siblings. We hope to see many of you there!

Would you like a chance to travel the world without buying a plan ticket? What would be better than to give our students and their families a passport to cultures around the world? Mark your calendars for the One World, One Night Festival, Tuesday, February 21st from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.

At the festival you will find tables hosted by fellow Spicewood parents sharing their cultures by exhibiting artifacts and traditional clothing, teaching crafts and games, and providing culinary samples. Last Spring the event featured Korea, China, Israel, Ethiopia, Philippines, India, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Italy, Peru, France, Bahamas, India, China, Ethiopia, Korea, and Iran. Each year the number of countries grow and we encourage all cultures at Spicewood Elementary to consider participating in this One World, One Night Festival. It is a great way to introduce our students to cultures from around the world and embrace the IB education! This event can not be possible without your participation, if you would like further information or are interested in participating in this event, please do not hesitate to email us.
