Spicewood Students Compete in Math Pentathlon Division 2 Tournament
We had 22 second and third grade students from Spicewood’s Division 2 Math Pentathlon team participate in the Austin area tournament on Saturday, April 13th. They worked hard all year and did an amazing job. Special congratulations to our hall of fame medalists, Asmi and Joaquin, who won every game! Congratulations to our other medalists, Ravi (gold), Carrie (silver), Misha (silver), Reett (silver), Aanya S. (bronze) and Nishka (bronze). Honorable Mention ribbons went to Abby, Alice, Antara and Avery. A big thank you for the dedication and time of our volunteer parent coaches, Manisha Gupta, Shilpa Malpani and Jane Mulligan.

The 5th graders showcased their PYP exhibition project last Thursday showing off their research into issues and action under the United Nation’s Sustainable Goals. From plastic pollution to innovation of technology to solving some of the world’s biggest issues, the students showcased some amazing examples and ideas to our community. Congratulations to our hard working fifth graders for all of their hard work over the past few months. From independent research, communicating with their mentors and groupnote taking and organizing their own action opportunities they truly exhibited the attributes of a global citizen! Be sure to check out social media for more snapshots of this inspiring day using #SWESAction on Twitter.
